Design

You can tell right off the bat that Garmin Approach S10 is pretty light and comfortable to wear. It kind of looks like an apple watch with its square design, but its housing is made up of plastic.

It got buttons on both sides, on the right side, it got a little arrange button and on the left side, it got a power button.

This Garmin Approach S10 doesn’t win any design competitions and is certainly not the most advanced GPS watch out there, it doesn’t have any fancy features like caddy feature, etc.

But, it does deliver what it promises.  It lets you know how far from the green you are, the pin, the front of the green, and the back of the green.

Knowing this information is really important because that helps which club you need to select, which determines if you’re gonna get on or not.

Screen.

Approach S10 has one inch black and white screen. However, it is not a touch screen. So you have to use the buttons for navigation purposes.

Garmin Approach S10 golf watch provides distances to the near, far, and middle points of the green relative to your position.

All the information is easily accessible as you twist the wrist. The watch has the ability to measure shot distances.

The nice thing about the black and white LCD is that it has great visibility and high contrast, so you can clearly view the numbers even under bright light.

Battery

The watch also comes with an alarm option and works on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and has a feature to automatically select its time according to the time zone.

Like other  Garmin golf GPS watches, Approach S10 comes with a proprietary connector.  Unfortunately, you need a special USB cable to charge this golf GPS watch.

Don’t worry, In the box, you’ll get the little USB cable that works with the connector. But,  it would have been great if we could be able to charge it with a micro USB cable.

Because carrying around the little proprietary power cable is not something that you want to do especially if you’re going on a little golf vacation. If you forget the cable and if you turn on the GPS then it will die within hours

Anyway, Garmin Approach S10 has a good battery backup considering its size and price. It will last for 12 hours in GPS mode, so it should be more than enough for several rounds of golf.

3. Why should I buy this watch over other watches on the market

Most watches on the market don’t have a slope function that allows you to add elevation to your shots and get compensated distances.

On top of that, they aren’t water-resistant and only last about few hours before needing a recharge.

4. Is this watch durable?

The watch’s housing is made of plastic, but its screen is protected by a mineral glass that is just as strong as the glass in most smartphones.

The wristband uses standard threading to screw together, so you could easily replace it with another aftermarket band if you wanted to customize your look.

5. What is its battery life like?

The watch’s battery life is estimated at about 12 hours. That isn’t much, but it’s likely enough to get you through a full round of golf before you have to recharge it overnight.

The charger uses an integrated USB cable with magnetic connections for the power pins and information pins that automatically align when they are plugged into the watch.
